car hire in Cyprus

Hi all, holiday to northern Cyprus all booked for 5 weeks time. Flying into Larnaca airport and we are thinking about hiring a car to drive to the north. We are aware of the problems of taking hire cars to the north, is anyone able to tell me if you can leave your hire car at the border, walk across and have another hire car waiting for you in the north? We really don't want to just have minimal insurance which you can get at the checkpoint but are sruggling to find out what to do. All answers gratefully received. Thanks all :-)

you can drive through no probs as long as you show your passports.have a fab time im going in 2wks 4days and counting love it there
