School Secretary - Accronym help and holiday help...

I am applying for a new job as school secretary at a local school and I need help on the following things and what they mean in lay mans terms, and I opnly have 2 days befor the post closes!: -
1. "Starting salary APTC 25-28 (�21,885 - �23,937 f.t.e.)".
What does APTC 25-28 and the FTE bit mean??
2. "Term tie plus 20 days OR full-time over the year; 36 hours per week on average".
What does this mean in lay mans terms??

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.i dont know for sure but a guess is : aptc 25-28 = the level of admin they want for the post (aptc is probably some education acronym) Fte= full time equivalent. Ie that is the monet you would get if you worked full time, so as this job isnt full time you would have to deduct some money off to get your per annum wage

APTC - Admin, Professional, Technical and Clerical. It's the scale you'll be paid in accordance with. The numbers are the points on that scale that your rate of pay falls into. If you're new to the authority, you usually start at the bottom one.
FTE - Full time equivalent, which means this is a part time post.
Full-time over the year - the hours per week are pretty much full time, but you wouldn't be expected to work during school holidays, so the annual salary you get for the 38 weeks or so of term time is actually distributed over 12 months (even though you only work for around 10).
I'm not sure what 'term time plus 20 days' refers to.
