unleaded petrol in a diesel engine

I've put 16 litres of unleaded in a diesel engiine,I was told to fill it up with diesel,I got 23 litres in,and to keep putting a couple of pounds in a day to dilute it.Will I have damaged the engine

It may burn out your injectors, thats what happened to my bosses car when I put petrol in it, lol

It would have been better to have drained the tank but it should be ok. PS are you a blonde Vikki ?
