Air bag reset

I have a 1991Lincoln Town Car. After removing the air bag to service the steering column, I installet it and the air bag light flashes 10 times and then pauses. The light will continue to do this as long as the ignition switch is on. How can I reset this light? I have a 1990 Mark VII with the same problem. I have disconnected the batteries on both of them with no success, HELP.

I would be very very careful of airbags as they contain explosives and can cause injury if not done properly. I would personally take it to your garage and them to either disconnect it totally or ensure it is safe without the risk of it going off in your face when driving! Not good!
