I have 3 points on my licence. Am I right in assuming they are for 3 years? If so, what happens after the 3 years pass? Is there a certain period of time after that 3 years that I still have to inform insurance company?
the points stay on your licence for 4 yrs,but they only count for 3 yrs,you should inform your insurance co about the points straight away and if you change companies you should tell them.
A lot of companies only ask for information on offences within the last five years. 3 points will make little or no difference to your premium. Nowadays most people have penalty points due to the infestation of 'safety' cameras'. After 4 years you can send your licence to DVLA to have the endorsement removed.
