What actually happens if you ignore the penalty notice found under the wiper?

it will double in money,then if you ignore that they will send the bailiffs round ,who will add another �90 or so, on top,so you will end up paying about 5 times more then you would if you pay it in the 1st place,dont be silly pay it now.

Yes you need to pay it now-parking revenue=religeon to most local authorities, to the extent that they will pursue you with the fervour of the inquisition if you don't pay up! they are even willing now to spend money on Smart cars with periscope cameras to catch 'offenders' it's that obsessive.

Next time you feel like being naughty, murder a granny, run over a couple of nuns, and rob a post office, the penalties will be less draconian.

The other alternative is to do like most people round my way seem to do, and not register your car in your name.

Yeah. You are right of course. I knew I had to pay, and the biggest thing I could do was to ask this question and delay for a day.

What seems silly is the fine is the same if you pay for parking then slightly overstay, or for not buying a ticket at all and trying to defraud them.

The alternative is if you have a friend with a smart buy one yourself and park em both in the same bay, and pay for one ticket, that gets em going, for a start they don't know whether to book one or not, the other thing is if they do give one of you a ticket you just produce the paid ticket from the other smart.
IT WORKS TRUST ME, two of us have smarts.
