The engine revs like mad in between gear changes - anyone had this problem? And is there a cure? Thanks.

is it petrol or desel
Could be throttle linkage/cable sticking so not returning to 0% between changes. If its a petrol it could be an air leak on the intake somewhere, but this would also show itself on tickover ???
