How do I Bleed a 1997 astra 1.7 TD Engine

I have just changed the fuel filter on the engine but cannot get the fuel up to the filter, I have had a look but cannot find any sort of primer mechanism and turning it over on the key doesn`t seem to help. can anyone help?
