hi me again got the coil pack i need on order for my deawoo lanos but it will take 10 days is it still ok to drive my car while its running on 3 cylinders . only somebody said it will ruining my cat.. and i have only just had a new one fitted thanks val
thank you for your replys .
i did run it abit after i had the cat fitedt as i never realised the coil was faulty must have done about a 100 miles . i wont use it now till its repaired do you think it will be ok or could i have damaged it already val
I expect it will be OK, the car must be awful to drive with one cylinder out I would have expected the ECU to revert to limp mode ie virtually no power
rdv
its a bit juddery in 4th and 5th and the power is not to clever but mostly only drive to work and back wich is only 5 mins by car (lazy i know) but only noticed it when i went on long trip was not picking up 2 good .. and juddering val
A 10 day wait for such a common part is not reasonable. I think the engine in your car is GM (Vauxhall) try Motor Factors in yellow pages or your local Vauxhall dealer should have it in stock, probably cheaper too.
its only taking 10 days because its from e bay got it for 55. new with 3 year warenty . all others i got quoated on were well over 120.00 it is a vauxhall engine i have been told but the coils are slightly different . nead new back and middle exhaust to which is nearly 150 . and the bracket i need is slightly different the exhaust place said it would have to come from daewoo dealer (bracket ony ) as they cant find one that fits ????? val (confussed thats me )
