Power-steering

Hi, im looking to buy my first car (Fiat punto, M reg) and it doesnt have power-steering! Can you get power-steering installed? if so, how much am i looking at?? Thanks

it is not feasible to install power steering on a old car like that,the money that it would cost,would be better added to your budget to buy a newer version with power steering already fitted,and there again i doubt it could be done on the older puntos anyhow,hope that helps you.

I am old enough to remember when the only cars with power steering were the big ones e.g. Ford Granada sized ones.
We have become so used to power steering in all modern cars, we no longer appreciate the effort it took to turn the wheel.

if my memory serves me correct i dont think the any of the older puntos have power steering at all do they ?? if not there wouldnt even be any components available to install it eg steering rack , pipe work, pump, hoses etc.

dont know about the power steering but you should stay well clear of fiats they are the most unreliable of cars in a recent newspaper survey out of 100 fiat stilo was 98 fiat panda was100 and puntos were 75. hope yua havent bought it
