Non Starting Punto

I recently purchesed a 2001 punto ELX. It sratred fine at first but now it won't. The engine management light comes on and stays on. Engine will tick over but will not start. all else is working. Unfortunately i've only the blue key................. any suggestions would be great

possible crank or cam sensor. they send signals to tell the plugs when to start, without these sensors you got a no-go.
