We're looking to purchase a new Skoda Octavia Elegance 1.9 Diesel and need to work out how much approx. it may depreciate in the next 3 years... does anyone out there have a rough idea? thanks. (we're thinking of a 1.9 approx �14.5K

Why buy new? You're only lining the dealer's pocket. If you gave the keys back to him immediately he'd knock �2-3k off the price before he'd even consider buying it back - even though it's not even left his showroom.

I'd always buy a nearly-new, secondhand model. For the same money, you can often go up a class too. The website that gives you the depreciation graph advises the same. Think REALLY hard before you buy a new car. You lose a packet.
