Learning to drive

Just out of interest how many on AB who are learning to drive check their instructors licence.

A fully qualified instructor should, while giving instruction, display a green badge (issued by the DSA) in the lower nearside front of their windscreen.

A trainee, PDI (potential driving instructor) should likewise display their red badge.

I was prompted to post this after reading the question from INDIEANNA86 re "instructors" who use mobile phones or smoke while giving tuition.

How many of you who take (and pay for) professional tuition bother to check this?

My first instructor was from BSM so i just assumed they would be professional (WRONG!!!), my second one was private and had his green badge. This did not stop him failing to show up for a lesson one day then never answering his phone for weeks. I had paid �100 up-front for lessons so was a bit annoyed, then I received a post-dated cheque dated...wait for it...Christmas Day!! My third and final instructor was fab and swiftly got me through my test first time which was nothing short of a miracle ;)
