ford mondeo engine light

the other day my engine warning light came on, upon checking my oil i realised it was very low. i have re-filled the oil and kept an eye on it for a few days and it has not moved. i am now wondering if there is any way i can reset the system so my engine warning light will go out?????????????????

surely it would be the oil warning light that wouldve come on if it was just low on oil.

have you thought that it perhaps is warning you of an engine fault?
