the two boot luggage cover strap hooks on my mondeo are broken -its a common fault (seen loads of mondeos with this prob)-is there a quick fix to this ?, because every time i open the boot the luggage cover is not being supported and does not rise with the boot and needs to be held by hand to put shopping in
thanks

I've got the same problem with my Mondeo. Pain in the neck, isn't it ? Apart from buying a new parcel shelf I think there are two possibilies. 1. Buy a used shelf (complete with cords) from a scrap yard. They cost about 25.
2. Buy the cords on their from Ebay. I think they go for about 10- 12. The trouble is that you could be in the same situation in a couple of month's time ! So, I've repaired mine with string ! Then I'll replace it when I come to sell. Good luck.

thanks - went to breakers loads of mondeos(15) -all with broken hooks!
any type of string in particular?-as i assume it would need a fair amount of "give/tension" to support shelf?
No, I just used ordinary white string with loops at the top end to hook over the tailgate projections. Not very pretty but they do the job for the time being. I have thought of using fishing line, which would be just as strong but almost unnoticable. Sounds pretty scruffy but as you indicate this design fault is a very common, frequent and potentially costly occurence.

Hope you are good at knots !
