I`ve owned a dozen Novas & Corsas which appear to have the same electronic ignition system. The only problems were one defective HT lead, and a tendency for lubricant from inside the distributor body to collect in the distributor cap. When the engine was warmed up this caused no problems. But when cold having not been used say, overnight, it collected at the bottom of the cap and caused difficult starting & a misfire, until warmed up. Have a peek inside your cap.
