Astra SRi XP

I'm looking to get a brand new 1.9 diesel Astra SRi with exterior pack. I can get a bit of discount as I have a relative that works for Vauxhall. I think its around 16-17k I can get it for, with a few extras. Is this a good price to pay? Also what is the depreciation likely to be like?

Is there anything else I could look at for that money, or would it be worth buying one a few years old for around 10k?

One last thing, if I try a few dealerships is there likely to be one that throws in a few things extra? Even on top of the discount?
