I have a pug 106. my oil cap has the white stuff when you look under it. ive been told it is the head on its way out but also ben told it could just be condensation. My fan comes in after short journeys also. And my dash board has two lights. one a temperature and one an oil light that both flicker on and off together whilst driving. Could this just be a short because they would come on and stay on together wouldnt they? please help? and how much would a hesd be if it needs replacing. it is a 1998 no an s pug 106 zest

I had a head-gasket problem once (not a Peugeot). The indications were ... rust-coloured trails running down the engine block from the cylinder head, and evidence of mixing of the coolant and the oil. If you take out the dipstick it could show light-coloured bubbles in the oil, and oily/rusty deposits if you take off the cap from where you top up the coolant. Does the coolant or the oil need frequent topping up? If you cant see any of these signs, there might not be anything to worry about, if the engine is running OK.
The flashing warning lights I dont know about.
