When i start my car it makes clunking noise when the engine is running i dont know what it is, i had taken it to the garage i was told it must be a chain in side the engin i have looked it up in the haynes manuel it does not show any hains in the engin is their any one faced a simlar problems. i would like to hear from any body had simlar problems and what was found and how it was fixed.

The only chain inside an engine is the timing chain, as your car has a timing belt I suggest you take it to a garage that knows what they are doing.

as i stated it dose not hav a timing chain as the car hads a timing belt i was wondering coud it be bearing on a componet which is driven by the drive belt i.e power stearing or the water pump if it's one of them how do confirm which one it is? because short time ago my drive belt broke ever since a new belt it has started making the noise i'v had the belt auto tenshioner replaced.
