Vauxhall corsa Year 2000

The car runs ok, a bit erratic on the throttle pedal, if you press the pedal down hard it kangaroos a little then the orange light with the motor on it comes on, it then stops and wont start, leave it for 5 mins and it will start . A new battery was fitted 2 months ago. Any Ideas?

I am no mechanic but this happened to my corsa . the orange light in the shape of an engine is the engine managemet light . if this light comes on it needs checking out at a garage quickly , it proved very expensive with me.

Kinda sounds as though your automatic choke is stuck on. The kangarooing will be the engine beginning to flood due to the fuel mix being too rich, which will also explain why it cuts out and won't start again for a few minutes. You will probably also have noticed that the engine idles at a higher rev .
Funnily enough my 2001 Corsa started doing it yesterday on it's way up the M61
