Astra clutch judder
8 Answers
Has anyone heard have Vauxhall released a "fix " for the clutch judder in astra's,vectra's etc ? Mines developed it but only first thing in the morning as this appears to be the way the fault is.
I've read they were supposed to release a replacement clutch unit/ flywheel for them - did this fix the problem ?

id go along with the oil theory suggested by TWR, at a guess i would think you have a small amount escaping through a seal.
if its only on the mornings, i wouldnt bother too much.
on the plus side, that engine/gearbox is a piece of cake to work on. im not a mechanic but could change a clutch in about 30-45 min. (have done on a Cavalier)

Its got nowt to do with oil contamination - just a design fault with the clutch/dual mass flywheel.
All I wanted to know was
(a) has anyone had the new modifed clutch / flywheel fitted? and
(b) did it cure the problem permanently ?
TWR is right about condesation being part of the problem.
It seems the more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to block the drain.
