Renovating a plastic badge

Hi,
Does anybody know how I can renovate a car badge. It is a plastic badge with writing on the reverse, which has worn off. ( It is a bit like the FORD oval badge). I need to clean off the old paint and stuff to get it back to clear plastic, and then repaint as necessary. The problem is finding a paint to do the lettering with, which looks like chrome. Is there a paint readily available which will do this, maybe from some modelling application? I've tried a silver touch up kit for a car, but it's not "shiny enough", and I've been told that Humbrol silver will look grey when used like that.. Any suggestions?

This sort of paint might be what you need - it's a *brilliant metallic chrome* paint suitable for plastics.

I'm off out in a minute to a shop called The Range which sells all sort of arty-crafty stuff (as well as a million other things), so I'll see if they sell it in there and how much it costs. The paint spray in that link above is �6.49 + p&p.

Me again....I think I've found a better product for you - Plasti-kote Project Paint Fast Dry Enamel. It comes in a range of colours - including a chrome that really looked like chrome rather than silver - and cost �2.79 for a 100ml spray can in The Range. According to the blurb on the back it was suitable for use on wood, metal, paper, ceramics, cardboard and most plastics. It was actually in the paint & car department rather than the arty-crafty and according to the Plasti-kote website, their products are available in loads of places, here's a link:-

Now, all you have to do is work out how to get this spray paint to form letters - I guess you could use a stencil. How big are the letters and how many of them do you need to write/print ?
