my vans glow plug light comes on and flashes,but when it does this the throtle no longer works although the engine is still running.any surgestions please would be greatfully received,thanks.

Some diesels like your dont have an engine managment light to tell you there is a fault, they do it with the glow plug light instead, a trip to the dealers or a specialist to plug into your engine ecu to read the fault codes would be the next step

I had the same problem with my Focus Diesel. I think they probably share the same engine. It was diagnosed by the Ford dealer as the throttle potentiometer.I was told it is quite a common problem. Does turning the engine off and re starting cure the problem for a short time mine did??
