servicing and mots

im gonna sounds like a typical girl i know but i got my car in january, brand new, and im unsure about when/how often im supposed to get the car serviced or get a mot done etc. also what can cause a car to fail an mot, as my car has quite a few scratches ect lol.

you won't have to worry about an m.o.t untill the car is 3 years old.and as far as servicing is concerened it will tell you in the service hand book you had when you took delivery of your brand new car.

most cars need a service every year or every 10 to 12 000 miles which ever is sooner, if you tell us the make model and fuel type we can be more specific

Hi Calon, as your other answers, but regards the service you do know that you have no need to take the car back to the dealer for the service! If the car was a F----D for the sake of it you can take the car to whatever garage you want providing that they use the GENUINE PARTS & are VAT Reg. As said just go by the instruction manual or seek advise from the dealer but for your own bank account do not use their services use a local small family garage.

Hi Zacmaster, I understand where you are coming from from what you say but a lot of people do not realise that they can get their car serviced wherever they want providing the garage is VAT reg & also they have to use the genuine parts but cut their labour cost by a hell of a lot, I understand the large garages have to pay their overheads, wages etc but lets face it what some charge is more than some people pay for a car, but your point is taken.
