Peugeot 306 XLDT Smoke problem !!!HELP!!!

Hi i have a 1.9 306 xldt and when it starts on a cold morning i get quite a bit of smoke till it warms up. Is this a problem or just a normal thing for a car of its age? Its a p reg and i aint very knowledgable with diesels!

all diesels smoke you can help reduce it by using fully synthetic oil & drive it a bit harder occasionally to blow all the soot out of the exhaust or it'l fail the mot.

it depends on wat colour the smoke is. white smoke means its burning water so the heads on the way out. black smoke is fuel and blue is oil. well think thats the way it works. if it starts ok shouldnt be a problem.
