mercedes e240 engine management light?

Few eeks back engine failed to start (no firing just turned over) after stopping at a motorway service area after about 2 hours non problem driving. After about an hour tried again and it started fine but engine management light stayed on. Few hours after that it started and engine management light was off. Drove for about a further 3 weeks and exact same thing has happened. Only thing that is abnormal is that when car was serviced 1600 mile sback they failed to reset the ecu so each time i start up I get a service reminder saying it is 1600 liles past service due time. No faults are displayed on the console menu and oil level is ok..... any ideas??? Thanks in advance
