Sunday trading
2 Answers
Gotta work today and we have an hours sunday browsing when we are unable to help customers in any way due to the sunday trading laws, I especially like this hour, as people come up to you and ask you all sorts of things and all you can say is a set script about sunday trading legislation and it is really really very very badly the best thing and makes me feel all good inside lol!!!!
I am quite mean aren't I????
anyway, off to defrost the car as it is white over outside but at least that awful fog has lifted.
has anyone found a website where we can protest about that diana woman getting thru on X Factor?

For example, in the supermarkets, you cannot get anything from the deli counter. I thought the definition of trade was buying and/or selling or an exchange of goods. Surely if a staff member were to give me advice or hand me an item to place in my basket until the tills opened, that's not trading because no exchange has taken place??? I've searched some websites and I cannot find anything which would indicate that staff cannot assist during browsing time.........all seems a bit strange to me. Why is this Dot? Is it actually Law or just large supermarkets/department stores erring on the side of caution?
it's the law for retail outleys above a certain floor space who are only allowed to trade for 6 hours on a sunday. they can open for browsing and self selection up to an hour before and they can remain open for up to 30 mins after announcing a closing time and restricting further entry to allow the customers to complete purchases
