my son has a private reg, he now has another car and needs to transfer the reg, is it just the new car that needs to have a MOT and already be taxed before he can have the transfer done, his old car has now run out of both thanks

Only vehicles which are currently taxed (or tax exempt) and have had a valid MOT certificate in the past 6 months, are allowed to use the transfer scheme.
If your Tax or Mot is about to expire we advise you to renew these before applying for a transfer to ensure your transfer is successful.
