car wing mirror

some vandal ripped the wing mirror off my partners 1995 Vauxall Corsa.I have got a replacement (whole unit) ,but I cant remove what is left of the old one.Does anyone know if it is just supposed to pop off.I am completely useless when it comes to cars.I have searched for websites the might give detailed instructions, but they allwant me to purchase a manual.

 on the inside of the door there should be a plastic cover where the mirror attaches to the door. Pop this off and there should be screws behind it.

you may have to remove the whole inner door panel, there may also be foam covering the bolts.

Had exactly the same problem with my corsa after idiots ripped it off. Had to get a mate to look at it and it is a case of removing the panel inside the door and any foam which may be covering the nuts and bolts - and then unscrewing it from the inside. Pain in the arse but it shouldn't take too long!
