Sorry Tanto -- that just means turning the key one way until the locks lock, then back the other way until they unlock - several times.
In your case as the boot button seems not to work now, assuming it was OK before, perhaps that is the source of the problem. You could try a squirt of WD40 in this area. If there are any visible electrical connectors and they are accessible, you could also try disconnecting these and reconnecting them. Many electrical problems in modern cars are nothing more than mild corrosion of the metal surfaces in the connectors.
BTW Take plenty of cash with you if you do go to the Ford garage!
