Need to inform insurance company ?

It is possible that shortly, my wife and I will have 2 non paying guests for a few weeks. ( until their house is ready to move into ).
Would we need to inform our house insurance company if they did move in ?

Cant see that it would be an issue if they are family or friends staying for a short while - you should ensure that their possessions are covered by their own insurance. The only reservation I would have is that insurers all vary in their attitude to risk so it would probably be a good idea to tell them "just in case".
