Hi John, the fuel consumption lies with the person that drives it, the way you drive, how you drive, the use of gears, tyre pressure, roof racks, these all contribute to fuel saving, regards what car, If you want really good return on your fuel & your pocket can afford it, Also think about your needs, leg room etc, passenger room, storage room, go for an Automatic they change at the right time, in the right gear with no loss of ill use of revs.
Hi panic, a while back we went on a Defensive driving course with the company I used to work for the then HGV was a 40 tonner the box was auto, the figures it give out was welcomed by the comp for fuel efficiency, I know there is obviously difference between the two but the figures give out by the makers cannot be undermined, Exact change to the exact road conditions Eg/ traffic lights, road works etc. But I will stand to be corrected.
