squeaking coil springs
my front coil spring seem to be squeaking every time i go over a bump /speed bump - does this they have broken. i had one replaced last April as it had broken. Where i live there are bad speed bumps and very bumpy road, i do drive slow but i am just concerned the squeaking means it has snapped again. What damage can it do if one has

But coil springs tend to make more of a clunk than a squeak, If it is broken anywhere along its legnth, it will be easy to see just by poking your head under and looking, that side of the car will be visibly lower, as the spring tends to partially collapse,
however, if it has broken on the first or last coil of the spring, it will be difficult to detect without dismantling, Although sometimes you can get a finger in there to feel around it,
But it sounds more like a dry upper or lower suspension arm bush,
Try squirting a load of WD40 arround it,
