wiring a demister on a CCTV Cameras

Could anybody tell me how to wire the demister on a CCTV camera casing please? There is a plate inside the casing which has a wire attached to it and somebody has informed me that this is a demister, should it be wired to 12 volt or 240 volt, and can anybody advise me how to wire it

I wonder how many different types of CCTV camera there are in the world

Wouldn't it be handy if they all worked in exactly the same way and every bit of them all was made and worked the same.
