i have a peugeot 206 w reg lx diesel. the battery light on the front stays on all the time. also the windows will not open untill the car has reached about 200 revs. i was told it was the alternator so changed that and it is still the same. it has a brand new battery on it but the battery light is still on does anyone know what this can be.
Have you got a rev counter?. If so, is it working ok? I believe they work off the alternator in a diesel and would be a sign that it is not charging as it should, even if it has been replaced.
Had the same prob with a diesel Renault, and the rev counter was one of the first signs of a faulty alternator.
