The Heater Fan on my Girlfriend's Renault Clio (94) doesn't work during the winter! Heat is produced, but when it gets cold/wet the fan to blow the heat into the car stops working and then starts again when the weather gets better!

Any ideas what it could be?

Failing that, where is it located under the bonnet so I can whack it with a hammer?

Many Thanks

Aahh, the trusted hammer method. Every car owner should have one. Don't know, sorry.

Remember the multi-million dollar camera that wouldn`t work on one of the Moon Landings?     Mission Control suggested the hammer technique and hey presto! it worked.   Some fruity language sometimes helps too.

She could ask a mechanic at her local bus depot......their heaters are notorious for only working in the summer months.

The heater is located just under the windscreen, In the middle.. if u remove plastic cover from drivers side(UK) . and put your hand under, towards the centre, u will see/feel the plug for the heater motor, swith heater on,(Makes sure wipers are off) and wiggle the plug, Most likely the plug is burnt, causing crappy contact
