Proton

Yesterday I noticed a car for sale parked outside a house, so I called back Today to have a look. It turns out to be
1.2 Proton - 07 plate - 45,000 miles - MOT until 2011
Inside absolute immaculate, same as the outside....Paintwork is glistening!!
Price - £2800
However, I spoke with a lady and she gave me keys to look insde/start up. (Starts no prob) (husband's cars)
She also showed me 2 more car's parked on the Driveway...... 1 - Old Feista going for £2,400. 2 - Peugteo 206 (did not get price as was not interested)
Anyway...........my point being
Why is the Fesita a couple of hunderd pounds less than the 07 plate Proton.
Makes no sense?

i would do a check on any car you are interested in buying
" to make sure it is not an accident damaged vehicle "
this could be one reason for lower sales price.
having said this i should point out that a fiesta will sell faster and therefore hold its money better than a proton.
fiesta's seem to be a desired car for younger drivers who have little road time. as the proton holds less " street cred " they are less likely to buy them.
The value of the proton falls faster because they are a less desirable car than the known fiesta so a second hand price obviously reflects this and the fiesta will hold its price better as it can still find a buyer " sadly even in a poorer state ".
hope this helps

Hi. As I said in an earlier post I have a Proton Persona which is 15 years old and I have had it for 12 of those years. It has never ever let me down but because it doesn't get the publicity that Ford does it will not sell that well. For what it's worth northernmonkey in my opinion Proton cars are just as good as any other cars in the same catergory but it's the advertisements that sell them.Cheers...S.O.G
