Volkswagen Passat key and fob...
I've recently bought a 2005 newer shape VW Passat, which has the three-buttoned fob with the key inside it. However, it only came with one key and fob, and I'd like to get a spare. Can anybody advise on my best option to get this spare kit without being ripped off?
Thanks.
Thanks.

i work at a vw dealership. your passat as a chip in it that the key reader has to be able to read to un-imobilize your car.
we have had people in the past wanting to get keys else where but cant due to the chip.
one way to avoid the labour charge for coding is go to the local dealership on a sturday, walk pastreception and into the garage, ask one of the techies to do it after hours and yuo could save £50, a out of hours techy could do it in under half an hour for £10, we do at our garage
