I have a vauxhall tigra and have noticed a few things I not happy with, are these major problems, can they be easily fixed?

The temp gauge seems to go up to 100 then coming down and creeps back up to 100 (especially in slow traffic) is this normal? The engine management light keep coming on but don’t know why and the speedomter has stopped working. Please advise

''The engine management light keep coming on but don’t know why''

Er... take it to a garageVauxhall main dealer and have a diagnostic test on it. The diagnostic test is called tech2: a computer is connected to the vehicle and displays trouble codes which are stored in the ecu....
"The temp gauge seems to go up to 100 then coming down and creeps back up to 100"

Possibly incorrect or faulty thermostat fitted

The engine management light and the speedo problem could be related, the ECU will freak out if it's not getting a speed signal. if it's a cable operated speedo check the cable, if it's electronic check the fuse first.
''if it's a cable operated speedo check the cable''

Good idea. I knew someone with a Tigra. Apparently the speedo cable was very short/tight and prone to becoming lose/unplugged, which set off the Engine Management light...
Get the thermostat changed ASAP. They are terrible to do the head gaskets on, because of lack of room.
Could be head gasket or radiator problem.
Get it scanned.

That was the cheap voltage stabilizer they had on the naff dash cluster.
I had an HA saloon lol. (hotted up with a VX4-90 engine in it)
I think they must have used the same voltage stabilisers in the 80's opel mantas!, my old manta B2 had both fuel and temperature gauges that had a mind of their own.
