Ford focus !!

Hi guys im going to buy a ford focus tmoro its 2nd hand , A 2001 model .. Any advice on what to look out for with these cars ? Ive had bad experiences buying cars in the past and dont want to make the same mistake again so any advice would be great .. Thanks :)

Make sure there is a good service history.

Vibration or strange noises in gearchange or transmission can be expensive to fix. Some have dual mass flywheel.
Instrument cluster: Make sure all working correctly .. even when key out! Cluster can fail. Expensive.
Dual Zone heating. Panel can fail. Expensive. Check it if it has this system.
Front doors locking and remote control, electic window controls operation.
Airbag and ABS lights off.

go for everything you can Jonah, It's the Byers market you have the choice " not them" try for a full tank Road tax, ex Warranty, looking at the mileage "cam belt" Service, you may think that's a lot to ask for! there are plenty of cars out there they know that SO that is in your favor.
