is there a site on the net i can get the speed limit allowances for the counties of the u.k
reason being all counties allow 10% on top of speed limit, but some counties give you 2mph and some give you 3mph on top of the 10% and just want to know really so i can see how it varies throughout the u.k..
Can I just ask whats confusing about different people saying different things?
Am I correct in assuming that those different people have passed their tests and have been let loose on the road?
If so i'm shocked they passed !
TOUREMAN , the police traffic officers will tell you about the 10% law.
they have to give you this as a leeway, the reason being your odometer is only calibrated at manufacture point of the car, whereas the police speed cameras , guns etc... are calibrated on a weekly basis to give accurate readings. this is why they have to allow you a little bit by law..
yes dris, the main reason is some counties allow 10% + 2mph , others allow 10% + 3mph.
very confusing and i think rather than confuse everyone from area to area why not just have a set limit nationwide, would be easier. road signs mean the same wherever you go so why not this...
Dris- do you have a license? because I spy you being the one who does the 30 dead on and causes the accidents! you have to use common sense with driving
its the sunday drivers that cause the smashes on the road driving at 20mph and having the car in 4th gear at about 18mph (like my mom) and have the car struggling to keep running without stalling.
sure she can do 100mpg driving like that that lol:)
