one of our cars is due for a service soon, its a 5 year old audi. we bought it from a dealer (not audi) who carried out the last service. so its not a fsh from audi which it was prior to that.
my question is, would there be any merit from getting a service from audi, or since the interval by a.n.other, is any benefit to fsh lost because it wasn't audi who did the last one ?
it will still have a regular service history, just not from audi. any views on whether i should now get it serviced by a main dealer or should i just go to anyone who can do audi's ?
You can take the car to whatever Garage you chose, if you go to Audi it will cost you a lot, go to any garage but ask them to use any genuine Audi Filters, Fuel filters etc, ask them to stamp the Service Book that should be with the car, depending on you mileage I would get the Cam belt changed ( If its on a belt) also the adjusters, whilst they are doing this work also include the fan belt.
to be honest most owners take the vehicle elsewhere once the warranty is up, if you were to take a look in most main dealers workshops a majority of the vehicles are company/lease or warranty very few private customers( apart from the obvious prestige brands )
Do you have an independent specialist near? I have access to three who specialise in VW-Audi Group (VW,Audi, Seat, Skoda) cars. The one I use does an excellent service at less than half the cost of the franchise near-by and is always happy to do minor things at no cost!
