Tax problem, not sure what to do.
My car is booked in on Friday for an MOT but the car has been off the road for a while, I removed the tax disc from the car as it only had a week or so left on it and I was not going to be driving it within that week. Situation has now obviously changed but I have already thrown the tax disc as it ripped when I took it out. Now my problem is, I need to take the car to the MOT with no tax disc in the windscreen, it runs out on Monday, what should I do, ideally I don't want to cancel the MOT as I have already cancelled it a few times and I don't want to p!ss the garage off, it seems pointless applying for a replacement tax disc as it would probably not get here before Monday anyway so would be useless, I could buy new tax but im assuming it doesn't take effect until old tax runs out. I don't know what to do. please help?

if its still taxed the dvla database will know its taxed, they could do you for failing to display but if you explain the situation then you should be ok (as long as you don't get pulled by a hitler wannabe), also you must have insurance on the vehicle to take it for the mot or the person taking must have insurance to allow them to drive another car not owning to theirselves.
