psp downgrade/hack help

ok, so all day i have been trying to figure this out. and i have no idea what i have to do, i'm pretty new at all of this, i the only thing i managed to do to my psp was add 6.60 prob9 and that took me a few houres to figure out, and now im tryin to figure out how to get .ptf type of themes on my psp insted of .ctf thems, and this seems to me more complicated then i thought, i have to downgrade, then update to a another fw inorder for it to work right. im not even sure if that is right, just after going at it all day and most of last night i have been going from one thing to another that leads me to this to ad the themes i want *sigh* seems like too much work for something like that but in the end i guess its worth it, and every attempt i put twords this i keep getting set back, when i find a downgrader and try to put it on the psp with detaild instructions, either the computer says that the data is corupt or the psp wont let me down grade for some reason. and im currently at 6.60 and i have a 9g trying to either get to 6.20 or 6.35/6.39 and im just having the worst time ever nothing seems to work, any advice before i start pulling hair or watchin my psp fly about 80 down the interstate!!
