Peugeot 207 (2011) Intermittent Power Steering..
Dear All..
Thanks in advance for any advice assistance into resolving this issue..
I bought the GF a 2011 Peugeot 207, she loves it, however a couple of months later, the power steering failed then came back on, understanding it is digital, after looking for a non existent reservoir being digital, then it came back on.
Only to stop working again, since then i've been on two long runs, one to Brighton, another to Essex, with steering like lead, even the old non power steering was easier, however after stopping for an hour after long runs, on starting to come back again, the power steering returned for about 20 minutes, then died again, to steer with lead.
As this seems intermittent, it does not appear to be mechanical.
I put it on a diagnosis, but that only vaguely referred to the cpu unit, which to send off is expensive if there's nowt wrong with it.
I have an inkling this is fixable, and would be grateful of any advice.
I have checked and replaced all the 10a fuses, i checked the tyres, all at 35psi, since there seems to be an intermittent gremlin, saying i have a flat tire or too low a pressures, yet, manually checking them they, are fine, however it does seem to go off when i put more air in
Besides straining wrists, i'm concerned driving it like lead will cause further stress/ware..
So any help resolving this would be gratefully received, as people power/knowledge can be an amazing thing when working together..

. . . but it might still be. I'm no expert here but Google suggests that a slipping or worn power steering belt can lead to intermittent problems.
Rwheadon suggests some other possible causes in the first reply on this thread:

(The fact that the thread there is about a completely different type of vehicle would appear to be irrelevant. All of them could still apply to your own car).

Would appear this is a common fault
