shower pipes howling badly

I turned on my shower this morning and the pipes starting howling so loud it was laughable. It seemed at first to only happen when I had both hot and cold water running. Then I turned off the cold entirely and the hot water howled. The gas water heater was replaced around 8 months ago. Is it air in the pipes, a washer that needs replacing. It's crazy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Denise from Florida

if it is combi boiler check the pressure.its maybe low and needs topped up as ours had same prob
