A person who has passed the the full motorcycle test before 01 March 2001 has automatic entitlement to drive a quadricycle, however, any person taking a full motorcycle test after this date is not entitled to drive an Aixam on a motorcycle licence.

It's classed as a road legal quad because of its weight and so can be driven on a motorcycle licence.
