Scooter insurance

My boyfriend son is planning to buy a scooter when he turns 17. As per usual he has put no thought or planning into the whole thing and how he will pay for it.

Can anyone tell me an approximate amount of what it will cost him to insure? He plans to buy a 125cc and its not new (not sure how old though). Are we talking a couple of hundred pounds or more? He also has not had a moped previously so will have no no claims bonus. Not much information to go on I know but a rough guide would be much appriciated. Thanks.

My guess (and it is just that) is that it would be in the region of �300-�400.
