bike restriction

hi all
got my mind set on a yamaha fz6 fazer but i'm on a restriction for 2 years.
so many questions i dont know where to start but here goes!
will getting it restricted affect the handling and balance?
will it make it slower to accelerate or slower at high speeds?
and finally will the engine suffer any long term damage?
any advise will be appreciated.
