As it's a lovely sunny day here on the real English Riviera I've just given the old girl a run and I feel I should report that I reached 140mph and no one died, not bad for an ageing biker on an ageing superbike, still even at 11 the R1'll take on most things.

graham, well, yes, I was sopping to the EASM, I did short shift after the initial wheelie!
You'll get a ban if they catch you.
And the shortest stopping distance at 140mph is....
... depends on what stops you, Cockney Si.
Are you another fairweater biker then Geezer?............we see lots of them down our way!.....they have been out in force this weekend!..........
Biking is a bit like flying...there are old flyers and bold flyers ...but no old bold flyers...RIG....RIP.....the reaper will get you in the end!!

Wow, Geez ... that must have been FAB !!

Wooooo Hooooooo !!!!!!!!!

I didn't say that.

Okay, yes I did.

No I didn't. I disapprove of speeding.

No I don't.

Yes I do.

Can I come for a ride with Geez?

Aaagh, no ... I must frown upon speeders.

But I can't do it.

I'm going for a shower.

stopping distance is what the highway code says divided by 2 so at 140 it's about 300 feet.

Not a fairweather biker, welshthingy, I ride all year round but it's as needed rather than for the pleasure, which it was yesterday. There's nothing like taking a bend on dry good road at over a century!
Question Author
well I have to say I'm dissapointed at the lack of motoring evangelists wanting to hang me by the heels and torch the bike in retribution.
Torch the bike ???

I'd like to BORROW it !
Trouble with biking is that riders often get the chip when it ain't their fault, so you might as well enjoy yourself every now and then.
read chop"
What does "get the chop" mean ?
Please be carefull R1 when ever I hear anything like this I always remember the last conversation I had with a young apprentice, about how nice the day was and he was going for a "Burn-up" before going home, a fe hours later his brother phoned up to say he was dead. There were no witness but the police estimated he ws doing in excess of 120mph when he lost it.
A euphemism for get killed or lose ones job and other unpleasant outcomes
